Types of Minimally Invasive Plastic Surgery Procedures

Non-invasive cosmetic procedures have been escalating in popularity over the past few years, says Dr. Jan Zemplenyi. Instead of going under the knife while anesthetized, it’s much less psychologically intimidating to take the other route.

The Bel Red Center for Aesthetic Surgery presents a quick breakdown of some of the most popular types of non-invasive cosmetic surgeries that you might be interested in if you’re in the process of considering it.

Botox

With botox, the targeted muscles that form unwanted wrinkles are significantly weakened through a specially-designed system. Botox is an essentially effective wrinkle solution that lasts three to six months. Then, another appointment is scheduled and the process begins again. Botox is likely one of the most common types of cosmetic procedures done, especially by celebrity figures because it can aesthetically improve one’s facial features drastically.

Dermal Fillers

Facial filler injections, or dermal injections, vary from a couple of months to years depending on the targeted area and the type of produce used. For instance, collagen fillers last a mere couple of months while hyaluronic acid fillers may last anywhere from six months to a year. The more long-lasting option would be calcium hydoxylapatite fillers which last over a year before the body begins to the break down the solution and absorb it.

Spider Vein Treatment

This treatment type is actually a permanent solution for pre-existing spider veins. By use of a laser, it destroys certain factors that cause spider veins from popping out and prevents new veins from appearing over time. This is one of the more popular types of non-invasive procedures as it’s a quick treatment and essentially does the job.
